Special Stud Bolts for Nuclear Plants

Custom-Made Stud Bolts for the Nuclear Sector
An excellent example of this type of fastening system is the turned stud bolt with a reduced shank, manufactured by EFS according to the client’s specific design for nuclear applications.
- Dimensions: M45 diameter, 442 mm length, 4.5 mm thread pitch.
- Material: 21CrMoV5-7 (1.7709), a special alloy steel with exceptional mechanical strength, thermal stability, and resistance to high pressures.
- Custom Design: Asymmetrical ends and a machined slot on one end to facilitate attachment to other mechanical parts.
To ensure a perfect fit and optimal stress distribution, the stud bolt is supplied with two M45 hex nuts in 24CrMo5, a material with differentiated resistance to optimize the bolt-nut connection. Additionally, the nut includes an integrated collar, which acts as a washer to ensure the correct thickness and even distribution of forces.
Custom Marking and Quality Control
Upon request, EFS can provide custom laser markings on the nut head or other specific areas for immediate and secure traceability. Each batch undergoes rigorous quality controls, ensuring excellent performance even in the most demanding conditions.
